Deutsches Sport & Olympia Museum

Germany's national sports museum on the Rheinauhafen – from antiquity to the Olympics, with hands-on stations and a sports court on the roof.

The German Sport & Olympic Museum on the Rheinauhafen traces the history of sport from antiquity to the present. Across some 2,000 m² it combines original exhibits with interactive hands-on stations.

Sport you can touch

The centrepiece of the permanent exhibition is a "timeline" running from 19th-century workers' sport to current events. Numerous interactive stations invite you to try things out – a highlight is the rooftop sports court with a view over the Rhine. The museum is run by a foundation that includes the German Olympic Sports Confederation.
