From parish church to cultural venue
After the Antoniterkirche had become too small, the Protestant congregation acquired a site on Filzengraben in 1850. King Friedrich Wilhelm IV set the style: a building that could hold its own beside Cologne's Romanesque and Gothic churches. Because of the depopulation of the city centre, regular parish services are no longer held; instead, concerts ring out here – including with the WDR Radio Choir – and exhibitions are shown.
