History
Its origins trace back to the European Academy of Economics and Languages, founded in Cologne in 1908. The first bachelor's programs began in the 1993/94 winter semester under the name "International Campus." The abbreviation "CBS" derives from its 1999 renaming to "Cologne Business School – International Campus." In 2016 the institution joined the Klett Group and operated as CBS International Business School from 2020 onward. In 2022 it gained further locations through the acquisition of the Management and Technology division of the European University of Applied Sciences, before merging with EU|FH in 2025.
Studies
The academic offering spans business, social work, education, and health. Bachelor's, master's, and MBA programs are available full-time, dual-study, or part-time alongside a career. Learning formats include on-campus, dual, and training-integrated models.
Memberships
The university belongs to the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the Central and East European Management Development Association (CEEMAN). It is also a member of the Dr. Jürgen Meyer Foundation and participates in the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) initiative.
Accreditation
All study programs are accredited by FIBAA. Institutionally, the university is accredited by the German Science and Humanities Council (Wissenschaftsrat) and internationally by the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE). In 2023 the German Accreditation Council additionally certified its quality management system.
