Two great names
The Franciscan brothers settled in Cologne in 1222 and began building the church in 1245. The church holds the tombs of the important medieval theologian John Duns Scotus and the Blessed Adolph Kolping, founder of the Catholic journeymen's association. This makes the Minorite Church an important place of pilgrimage and remembrance – right in the city centre.
