District

Neubrück

Part of borough Kalk

Neubrück is a district on the right bank of the Rhine in Cologne's Kalk borough, built between 1965 and 1970 as a planned large-scale housing estate on the former runway of a military airfield. Locals long called it the Konrad-Adenauer-Siedlung, though it never officially bore that name; only in 1992 did the area become Cologne's 85th independent district under the name Neubrück. The neighbourhood was deliberately designed with a mix of single- and multi-family homes and generous greenery, and has long been home mainly to middle-class residents.
