History

The parish of St. Albertus Magnus began in 1938 as a rectorate community. On 1 December 1950 it became an independent parish, with Pastor Groß as its first priest. Design of the church was entrusted to Otto Bongartz, a church-building master who lived within the parish.

Today

The community now belongs to the parish of St. Stephan in Lindenthal, whose name derives from the patronage of the Krieler Dömchen (Alt-St. Stephan). Active within the parish are the Cologne Youth Choir Sankt Stephan and the St. Stephan Adult Choir, both directed by Michael Kokott, as well as the DPSG Scout troop Dom Helder Camara and the Catholic Public Library St. Albertus Magnus.
