In 1868 the name „Alte Post“ passed from the inn to the railway station on the Mülheim–Bergisch Gladbach line, eventually giving its name to the entire Cologne district of Dellbrück.
The Old Dellbrück Bridge
The inn stands where the Alte Dellbrücke once crossed, in what is now the Thielenbruch area. The bridge was already mentioned in the 17th century, serving as a horse watering point along a causeway that led through a wetland.
From Inn to Place Name
In 1842 the name of the Alte Dellbrücke passed to the inn and its post house. In 1868 the station on the Mülheim–Bergisch Gladbach railway line adopted the same name. In 1904 the settlements and villages of Thurn, Strunden, and Hagedorn merged under the joint name Dellbrück, and in 1914 they were incorporated into Cologne under that name.

At the heart of the ensemble is the listed inn at house number 1124, together with an outbuilding on Von-Quadt-Straße. Next to it stands a residential house (No. 1126), renovated around 1900. A further outbuilding (No. 1128) now serves as a separate private residence.
