Köln Steinstraße Station

Step-free boarding for Class 423 trains: this S-Bahn stop in Köln's Porz district has served commuters since 2003 and replaced the former Porz-Gremberghoven stop.

The station, run by DB InfraGO, opened with the same timetable change that saw the Porz-Gremberghoven stop closed. Since then, S-Bahn Köln trains have stopped at Steinstraße.

Köln Steinstraße station opened on 14 December 2003, on the very same timetable change on which the nearby Porz-Gremberghoven station was closed, effectively replacing it overnight.

A Platform for Double Units

The platform's length and height are tailored to S-Bahn service. Its length allows double-unit formations of the DB Class 423, meaning two coupled trainsets, to stop here. S-Bahn Köln operates this class of train. Thanks to the platform height, boarding these vehicles is step-free.

City bus lines 152, 154 and 165 of the Kölner Verkehrsbetriebe also stop at the station. Stadtbahn line 7 does not stop directly at the station but at the Porz Steinstraße stop, about 500 meters away.
