The setup

Instead of a lift or cable park, a boat tows riders across the Rhine here. The operation uses a Malibu 23 LSV, which with Surf Gate, Power Wedge III and a ballast system produces a shapeable wave. According to the provider the boat has a sound system on board, and the engine puts out 410 hp. Each session is exclusive to your own crew, who decide on duration and order themselves.

Sessions, courses & rental

On offer are freeride sessions for wakeboarding or wakesurfing, plus a tube session in which you are pulled across the wave behind the boat (suitable for stag/hen parties according to the provider). Beginners can join regular school sessions, where you can also come on your own and simply try it out. Full equipment – boards and life jackets – is included. There is room for your own camera, and the team will film for you on request.

Season, format & getting there

Sessions run by appointment only, on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 until sundowner; closed Monday to Friday. The meeting point is the Rheinauhafen in central Cologne. Time starts as soon as the boat leaves the harbour and ends at the water-ski course in Rodenkirchen. According to the provider there is parking, showers and changing facilities at the harbour, with restaurants nearby. You only need to bring swim or surf clothing and a towel.
