Method and Science
The CRYOSTHENIX® method combines cold training with a specially developed nutrition concept. Both were created in collaboration with the Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). A case study under real-world conditions was conducted there using spirometry to measure calorie expenditure during cold training. The training approach is based on the principle that cold exposure temporarily boosts metabolic rate, as the body must expend energy to maintain its core temperature of 36 to 37 °C.
Session Flow and Equipment
During the stay in the cryotherapy chamber, the head and upper shoulder area remain outside the chamber. Members may train without an appointment; guests and newcomers are required to book a prior consultation. The entire process, including the consultation and first session, takes approximately 20 minutes. Nothing needs to be brought along for a trial session; functional thermal wear under the name "CryoWear" is available on site upon request.
Areas of Application
According to the operator, the offering is aimed at a wide range of people — from elite athletes to those with little spare time. For athletes, the training can be used both as preparation before a workout and for recovery afterwards. In addition, people with rheumatic complaints report a reduction in their symptoms through repeated cold applications, as extreme cold can lower pain perception.
