Kings at the bridgehead

The statue originally stood on the old Dombrücke and was moved to its present location with its successor, the Hohenzollern Bridge. Friedrich Wilhelm IV played a major role in promoting the completion of Cologne Cathedral. Together with the other equestrian statues, the monument forms a striking prelude to the famous bridge.
