Weyertor

A medieval city gate in the south-west of the ring wall – demolished in 1889; its name lives on in Weyerstraße.

The Weyertor was one of the great landward gates of Cologne's medieval ring wall, located in the south-west of the city.

The Weyertor – according to Adam Wrede the highest-lying gate of the new ring wall – was demolished in 1889 during a city expansion. We keep the entry for the city's history; only four medieval gatehouses survive today.
