Electorate of Mainz

Kurmainz was the Electorate of Mainz, the secular territory of the Archbishop of Mainz, who as prince-elector helped choose the King of the Romans. It was one of the most important ecclesiastical principalities of the Holy Roman Empire and was dissolved in 1803.
